Sexy Models - Videos!

As I wrote in my last blog I lost all of my writing and blog material due to a computer failure followed by a service technician failure to transfer the data at a Frye's Electronic store. One of the many blogs I had started but l wanted to finish writing was on the many varied models and universalities that exist at the core of all complex systems and the idea that these can be communicated through a basic model of explanation of some kind.
These mental conceptions or theoretical descriptions are what I’m calling ‘Sexy Models’. The idea that universal principles that transcend and include all key principles of the Kosmos, whether they be the universe, man, consciousness, human social systems, or reality itself. Or what some refer to as the four domans of the Physiosphere, Biosphere, Noosphere and the Theosphere.
Anyone who has been on any journey of significance will know that these ‘Sexy Models’ act as maps or Mandala’s of the transcendent to guide us through unknown, hidden, or unconscious territory to bring understanding. Each having its own seductive quality they seek to act as a lens in giving perspective in unifying and objectifying certain truths. A microcosm if you will of the Universe, the psyche, social systems , reality from the human perspective, or a 2 dimensional representation of a 3 dimensional concept of a 4 dimensional reality. I like to call the those that produce such "Sexy Models" the "Map Makers" who throughout history have sought to manifest a scheme or representation of truth.

Sometimes they are in the form of a chart, a process, a progression, a pattern, a spiral, a ladder or hierarchy of some kind that represent everything from the kosmos metaphysically or symbolically, to human development and social systems . What I find fascinating is how these ‘Sexy Models’ contend with each other for greater significance in the play of time and ego.
In looking at these models it is important to appreciate that sometimes the details do not matter: certain aspects of complex systems or behaviors transcend the particularities of a given system, and ‘are to be anticipated in any system of a multitude of simultaneously interacting components.’ The key to most of these models is to open the doors of perception to the macro and micro realities that beg us to ask the universal questions?

Why am I here?
How can this be?
Or as Joseph Campbell asks…
“What am I? Am I the bulb that carries the light or am I the light of which the bulb is a vehicle? This can be metaphorically understood as identifying with the Christ in you.”
So I thought I would gather and share with you some of the MANY different models that have been put forth with the idea of writing follow up blogs with a brief overview of a few of these. Some are well known, others may be new to you, while others are all the rage. With Theories of Everything there are those based on scientific speculations from the newest theories in Science (specifically physics and mathematics), while metaphysical Theories of Everything are based on speculations in, obviously, Metaphysics.
I’ll try to follow both with the principles of science and work from the simple to the more complex as a main tenet in science is the Principle of Simplicity or...
Occam's Razor -

The theory deduces that all things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be the right one, thus the best theory must be founded on the most simple foundation of only one thing existing. Or as one great thinker of art and thought has said,
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Metaphysics is based on the idea of the Dynamic Unity of Reality - that the universe is a multiplicity of changing effects of but ONE unchanging cause that we experience as being human. Or as the German philosopher Gottfried Leibniz says,

interconnection of all things with one another. ... I do not conceive of any
reality at all as without genuine unity. ... I maintain also that substances,
whether material or immaterial, cannot be conceived in their bare essence
without any activity, activity being of the essence of substance in general. "

Yep, I have the Universal One and many others. And I've collected a lot of his scientific art, charts and paintings in digital form. I print and post them in my office, over the toilet, any where I can take a moment to just stare in hopes of “getting it ” deeply and profoundly, just like a mandala.
The Russell chart you've posted is the first in a series of three on String Theory. I had the second chart posted over my toilet for a year and half before we painted… String theory? He was talking about it and illustrating it long before any other scientist or academic that I'm aware of.
I'm gonna print and post those models too! I'm interested in String Bikini Theory as well. Yeeeoooow!

I know exactly how you feel. Some of Russell's charts are so intense and overwhelming. Yet here is a guy way ahead of his time, all because he understood Universal principals of man, nature and God.
I really enjoyed reading of his experiences as a child. His perspectives at an early age wre so genuine and so profound.

What do you think of David R. Hawkins' Map of Consciousness based in Kinesiology?
Funny you should mention that ROD. I just read that a couple months ago, at least his “Power vs. Force” The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior.
I think he is on to something here, at least from an assessment point of view. The Map of Consciousness on Page 68 is a nice overview with the following chapters giving some interpretations and the social distributions of the consciousness levels.
What is really fascinating to me, is the simplicity of it all. 500 seems to be a pivotal point of awakening in his model, the altruistic, compassionate being begins to unfold.
And I think he is right on point when he speaks of the higher energy frequencies as being an attractor vs. the lower levels of fear and anger requiring force..

My take? Well, I've had enormous success in physical health using kinesiology with a my nutritionist-health provider. So I'm sold from that end.
I've had success and plenty of failure using the Doc's methods for verifying truth. However, I'm still very interested in his work. His later books are fascinating in his descriptions of higher consciousness. I see a lot of parallels with Integral Theory and Spiral Dynamics although I suspect all three camps might eschew each other for various “intellectual” and “rational” reasons. They've each got books to sell.
I use the Doc's methods with my six year old to test if she telling the truth or not or to find a lost toy and it's worked just about every time. It's a joke between us now. I'll say, “stick out your arm and will test this,” and she'll smile and demure giving up the truth or screams no I don't want to do that…giving up the truth anyway. LOL!
I love the idea of an all encompassing field that responds only to truth, that which is life engendering, or real and that which isn't responsive or false simply isn't real. Similar to what practically every sage teaches… It's also right up Russell's alley too.
I could go on and on… that's enough for now… fun stuff, though

hahaha. I really love the teaser. And I must say, I'm jealous because I've always wanted to create this kind of a blog showing different yet similar maps.
We can also start creating historical maps and diagrams on various specific topics from art history to technology. That would be interesting.
Sure it's ok….hahaha.. The teaser was for fun and a little experiement to prove the obvious.
Of course there are so many other maps available to choose from but I tried to stay withthe simplest and most commonly used ones of late.
Love the idea of the art and technology maps Lucidity….that would be cool.
