Bugatti Veyron Vs. Typhoon Eurofighter - Video

Bugatti Veyron
The Worlds Fastest Car

Back in April I blogged on the Worlds Fastest Car, also the worlds most expensive. The post has seen over 26,000 hits and just keeps going. I know when I first saw and heard about the car that has 16 cylinders, 10 radiators goes 253 mph and costs a wee bit over $1,200,000,  I too had to pause.

The Bugatti Veyron is a technological tour de force 1,001 HP supercar that makes others cars pale in comparison. So racing against just another car just doesnt seem fair. So last year, the folks at Top Gear pitted the Bugatti against a couple of Cessna 182s, but the Veyron left them in the dust so the RAF thought it could put up a better fight with the help of a Eurofighter Typhoon jet, and Top Gear accepted the challenge. And what's even more amazing, is that you can watch this race below. The exhibition is two miles in total, but the runway is only a mile long. To get both miles in, the Veyron will need to perform a legal U-Turn, and the Typhoon will need to climb up one mile, flip, and head back the other way. As Top Gears Richard Hammond who drives the Veyron says while racing the Typhoon,

"If your watching and you think this is cool,
IT IS!"

What the 37-year-old Top Gear presenter nicknamed The Hamster doesn't tell you in the piece is that he survived another car accident during filming of the Typhoon fighter jet race. He was taken off Silverstone's famous track by a fellow driver when his Bugatti Veyron at speeds at more than 100mph crashed into a barrier at speed.

You just got to love these guys at Top Gear who come up with some really fun stuff. I love the editing style the creative way they present their stories with a great combination of wit, humor, visuals and music all combining for  first class work. So take a look at this amazing car going up against the RAF's Typhoon, a real German vs. Bristish engineering contest.

Yes amazing.  Modern technology.
There's something about seeing things go really fast that throws all my tree hugging nature into to tilt…  I sit mouth open drooling.  That's so cool I hear myself gurgle.

Where do you find this stuff???

Blessings, David

HeyOK,
just swirling around in the infosphere. But I hear ya, it takes alot for me to pause on a piece of metal, but sometimes our technology  just  makes you pause and say, “What the hell… are you kidding me?  :)

Ya, very cool car indeed!

I wonder if it has anything to do with testosterone or is it about competition? Nothing wrong with any of those things. I can appreciate the science in creating something that is super fast  and it is quite amazing and even brilliant in design. If you need a fast get away this is one car that you'll want to have or is it more about competition or status. It does bring up some interesting questions of desire.
